Urban Adventuring

Whilst hanging out in London at the weekend, we started spotting Rat Race team members jogging around the capital with maps and a slightly excited but confused look on their faces. And, predictably given my personality, I started thinking, "Yeah, I could do that..."

Doh.

I really must learn to rein myself in!

I had a peek on their website (London Rat Race) and discovered that, rather handily, they have a "lighter option" for people like me: The Mean Streets. As opposed to the main event (Nine 2 Five), this one is only 3 hours and the fitness level required is to be able to jog 10k. Now, I'm not in that place right now, but I could be if I trained a bit. You get to to do the running around and some puzzles/physical activites, but without the hugeness of a whole day. Plus, there's no cycling! (I am not a cyclist!)

So, all I need to do now is:
- get running again and get fit enough
- persuade at least one other person to make a team with me
- enter next year's event

I do have a habit of making these plans. This one does excite me so I hope I do follow through with it...

I was going to illustrate this post with a photo of me running, but the few I have are incredibly unflattering! I'm such a wimp :)
