Got a kit box of my very own

I'm branching out - working on firework shows without A by my side. Which means we need to separate the kit out. Exciting stuff.

I went out a couple of weeks ago to buy my very own firework kit box. After a trawl of a couple of DIY stores, I was still empty handed  :(   I was struggling to find the right shape and size of tool box, and the few I did find were too flimsy for sitting on (a very useful part of having a box with you on shows).

Eventually, I arrived at Homebase. Here I found a really good selection and tried out sitting on them in the store to check they were sturdy enough (I'm not weird - honest):

My very own...

What will I be storing in my box? Well, it's a bit sparse at the moment...

Knee pads, eye protection goggles (I also have a visor on my helment), headtorches, nips (wire cutters), sharpie pen and rigging gloves (not pictured). These essential pieces of kit will also be joined by spare warm layers of clothing, a couple of hats and some sugary/cake-y snacks.

This weekend is the busiest of the fireworks season (5th November and all that jazz), so expect radio-silence on the blog until the middle of next week when I will finally have caught up on sleep and warmed up!

PS - In other news, the camera which I briefly dumped in the sea during last weekend's sailing adventure does not seem to have survived the experience! I left it to dry for four days, but that obviously wasn't enough!

R.I.P dear camera. :(

@Elle - thanks :) Most likely I'll be mostly cold and damp - the weather forecast is not ideal for spending two days stood in a field! Oh well...

I girl ought to have her own tools. When I got married to my husband I had more tools and cooler tools than he did. :)

@Christy - there's little danger of me ever catching A in the number-of-tools stakes! It does feel good to have my own kit and be responsible for myself.
