12 hikes...

Hiker Mom at living the hike life suggested a different kind of challenge for 2012: 12 hikes in 12 different states/countries. I thought I could give that a go, with 12 different counties. It shouldn't be too hard to plan one hike a month during 2012, should it?

Places I could hike:
New Forest (Hampshire)

Peak District (Derbyshire)

Lake District (bit of a drive to get up to Cumbria)

Chilterns (Oxfordshire I think)
Brecon Beacons (Wales)

Thames Path (all along the river Thames, but specifically in Berkshire most likely)
Ben Nevis (tallest mountain in the UK, somewhere in Scotland)

Ok, well that's seven without putting too much thought into it. Will need to think of five more (all suggestions of good places to hike in the UK gratefully received!) and organise all the details of when, who, etc. But it still makes more good plans for 2012 :) I'm going to be a busy ol' girl at this rate!

I can only think of hikes in my own area but I love the idea of this. I think I might join in!

I could SO get into this challenge! What a great idea. I'm going to go dream about some hikes I would like to do right now.

@Elle and @Julie - I know, it seems an "easy" and fun challenge. Am looking forward to planning walks :)

Wow how cool to live in the UK!?
I too think I might join along, but do hikes in different cities within my state. I hike numerous times a week sometimes, so that should not be to hard.
