You'd have thought I was quite an easy shape to dress: almost six foot tall and kind-of skinny (not in a model-skinny way, but relatively slim). However, that couldn't be further from the truth!
In a month or so I've got a fun evening out with the girls planned; it's a bit of a posh event so we decided it'd be fun to buy a new dress. Not being one of those girls who loves shopping and feels comfortable spending hours in a shopping mall or department store, I was a bit apprehensive. As it turns out, it was quite a laugh, and included a well-timed cream tea break to recharge our batteries!
I tried on approximately 28 dresses in 3 department stores and only found a handful that even looked remotely decent on me; and this is bearing in mind that I'm used to my body shape and so counted out dresses that I already knew would look dreadful on me.
How is this possible? My ability to look awful in dresses that look nice on the hanger astounds me!
Here's some of the dresses I tried:

So, after all this palaver, what did I end up buying?! You'll have to wait and see...

Such a tease!
I am dying to know what you eat when you stop for Cream Tea. ??
It was scones with clotted cream and jam. We had the option of full afternoon tea (posh sandwiches, cakes and scones), but unfortunately we weren't hungry enough!
Thought the second style would suit our shape. Can't wait to see what you chose.
@Cathy - like most of them, it looked like it'd fit until I put it on! Too wide on shoulders (very box-like) and waist in the wrong place. But pretty on the hanger!
